You need to establish an attorney-client relationship to insure confidentiality of your communications regarding this. That means you have to seek legal advice from a particular attorney. Whether or not you reach agreement with the attorney for him or her to represent you, the consultation is protected. Most attorneys do not charge for this evaluation consultation. Once you tell the attorney what the facts and your concerns are, you can determine if you wish to go forward with that attorney. If not, the communications are still confidential as a matter of law. I have been working in estates and trusts as an attorney since 1975.
