Law enforcement notification is always an option any time you know of provable criminal activity, although the consequences of inviting law enforcement into your life are often unpredictable, since they will first need to investigate you to a sufficient degree to make sure that you are a credible source of information. Speaking with a lawyer first is therefore always a good idea.

Answering this question does not make me your lawyer, and I would normally not do anything else on your case without additional arrangements, although you can ask for clarifications here or also see my past answers to similar questions at http://www.avvo.com/attorneys/53401-wi-jay-nixon-1529181/answers.html?sort=recency.
