There is a new landlord tenant law in WI, allowing landlords to dispose of property left behind by tenants, if your lease authorizes it. Otherwise, you might need to go through a complex procedure for noticing a sale before you dispose of it (or account for the proceeds if you are able to sell any of it). Obviously, what is the least likely to cause problems, if for you to convince the tenant to pick it up, if you can locate him. If you do not have a forwarding address, you can send correspondence requesting this to his old address and allow the post office to forward it. Take care to document whatever you intend to do with the property by written letters notifying him of what you want to do, and giving him a deadline to respond.
