No, clerks of court are forbidden by law from giving people legal advice, and if they do offer to advise you off the record, they have no obligation to be accurate in what they tell you. If you need legal advice, call a lawyer, since they are the only professionals who are lawfully allowed to give legal advice in the state of WI.
