Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in Wisconsin

A patient went to the ER with a complaint of dizziness. The MD told the patient to walk across the room and back. No assistance or gait belting was offered. As the patient turned around to walk back, she fell and the fall caused a tear in the shoulder requiring surgery for repair. Is the hospital and MD liable for the new injury and if so, where would one look to find a lawyer for representation?

Personal injury lawyers are plentiful and you can find them online, in the phonebook, or on TV. However, falling injury cases are difficult win in WI, since you will need to prove that the fall was the fault of the property owner, due to a defect in the floor, etc. Any time that one walks, one also assumes a level of responsibility for doing so safely, although that does not rule out fault under these unique circumstances.

Do not assume that I am your attorney because of my response here, since I would not normally be taking any further action on your case.
