Legal Question in Traffic Law in Wisconsin

Can a wisconsin resident bring a lawsuit against a county Judge, a county assitant D.A. A Wisconsin State Tropper for improperly convicting a person on a traffic violation> I was charged with one thing and then it was turned into the DMV as a totally differnet charge and now because I protested this by not paying the fine until it was changed, the State, County has suspended my license for 2 yrs, and therefore I have now lost my job as a truck driver.

No, each of these officials has immunity from suit for any discretionary actions done in the course of their duties. If you bring a frivolous case of this nature, substantial penalties and awards for the costs of defense are likely to be assessed against you. You also always have a duty to mitigate your damages and can only sues others to blame for the amount you would have been out had you properly mitigated. Here, you clearly would have been better off ot pay the fine, then appeal the decision, which appeal you would have clearly won if you had doneit correctly.

Do not assume that I am your attorney because of my response here. Call my office in Racine (262-633-3090 or email [email protected]) for clarifications, but short of such additional arrangements, I will not be taking any action on your case.
