I was working in a private engineering college. I was taken maternity leave for 3 months. After the delivery due my medical issues i was unable to rejoin the college & i put up my resignation stating to relieve me from all responsibilities at the earliest. Now my college management is asking me to pay 3 months gross salery as stated in my appoinment leter. College management didn't pay me my monthly salary during my maternity period as per maternity law 1961. Advice me to handle this situation.
