Legal Question in Banking Law in India

I have an dd in favor of an society taken by cash on dec 2009 . I want to cancel the dd. What is the procedure.

Dear Sir / Madam,

You may simply write a letter to the concerned Bank Manager of the Bank that issued the Demand Draft (DD) to cancel the DD citing reasons for cancellation of the DD, enclosing the original DD, and completing the Bank procedures as advised to you by the Branch Manager of the Bank.
