If the amount has been deposited in cash and the amount entered in the challan is less than what has been deposited, you run the risk of the Bank official swearing that only the amount mentioned in the challan has been deposited and the difference pocketed by the bank staff. If however they are honest, please bring to the notice of the manager of the bank of the error and request him to enter the difference also in the account. If they count the day's cash remittance on the particular day and find Rs.30000/- unaccounted, you have a chance to recover the amount. Otherwise you have to pay the price for your negligence in loosing the same.
