Legal Question in Business Law in Lebanon

To whom it may concern, I am the son of a diplomat (which in turn makes me a diplomat) living in Lebanon. I am of German nationality. I am interested in starting an online website which acts as a retailer (dropshipping). However, I need some kind of License and registration to legally start my online business. However, as I am a diplomat and not Lebanese, the situation is complex because I cannot start a business in Lebanon. The question is then the following: Could I obtain a license or registration from Germany while still remaining a Diplomat? Or would I have to give up the diplomacy? It is important to know that I will be selling to countries other than Lebanon, I would then just be living in Lebanon as a diplomat. Thank you for your time.

Dear Sir,

We understand from your email that:

1- Your are German.

2- Your father is a diplomat living in Lebanon.

3- You are planing to establish a website for online selling. You will be selling in Lebanon and other countries.

4- You would like to understand what are the legal requirements in Lebanon for that purpose.

If our understanding is correct, the reply to your query is as follows:

Being a German national (and a Diplomat) does not affect your capacity of opening a business in Lebanon.

You can register your own company in Lebanon and run your business (the website) from Lebanon. You will be able to get your work permit and residency accordingly. No need to give up your diplomatic passport.

Hope that the above clearly replies to your request. For any further details please do not hesitate to email us at: [email protected]
