You may start the business only if the goods are purchased from a Company distributor or an authorized super stockist or from the second's Company godown. Selling goods which are imitations or non-genuine coming from unauthorized sources is illegal. The main concern is whether you get a tax paid invoice for your purchases is of genuine products and not spurious goods. An authorized distributor or a super stockist will sell all legitimate goods and their tax invoice shall be fully genuine.

It is advised that you retain an advocate before starting business as you will have to have to get your firm or company registered. Thereafter you will have to apply for GST registration and later issue GST invoices. Currently the GST on ready made garments is 12%.

All the best !!!
