In such a case, you can obtain an OBC certificate and this certificate shall serve as a proof of you belonging to a particular caste, which is specified as one of the Other Backward Castes.

The documents required for this would be:

(i) the application form

(ii) the copy of ration card/ voter card/ name in voter list (any one of them)

(iii) Report regarding caste Patwari / MC / Sarpanch (a.) Income report (b.) No family member is gazetted officer (c.) caste/ religion report

(iv) Self declaration certificate.

In Karnataka, the Tahsildar, a Taluk level functionary, is authorized to issue caste Certificates. You need to submit the application along with the other above mentioned documents to the Taluk office, in whose jurisdiction you reside.
