Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

I have given some amount to known person for which I obtain post dated cheque alongwith acknowledgement on stamp paper of Rs.10/- . Now the party is denying to pay. The cheque has also been bounced. I have also lost the cheque. what is the legal remedy available for recovery alongwith time limitation

Dear Sir / Madam,

Since you have misplaced the bounced cheque, you can request your bank to provide you with a duplicate advice slip of the cheque bounce advice, and lodge a case under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act for recovery of your dues.
