Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

my friend decieved me, i told him to get me admitted in a college of bangalore because i was not much educated about colleges in bangalore and wanted to join the college for MBA for which i only had 47 percent in grafuation, so he told me, it takes a sum of rupees 3 lakhs to get admission in that particular college, under some university which takes the students who have less than 50 percent marks in graduation, and the admission was without the tution fees, so i totally transfered him 426000 rupees to get me admitted in that college, 3 lakhs for admission and 1.26 lakhs for tution fees, after i got admitted in the college, after 6 months my admission was cancelled because our university closed down, college refunded our tution money and then i got to know that there was no admission money to be paid there, we only had to pay tution fees, so can i file case of theft by deception against my friend, or wht should i do, is there any other option? How many chances are there to file a case, how many chances are there for me to win a case, and can he inturn file a case against me, and will there b any loss of my money, if i vil go to police? Plz i need to know the full procedure for receiving my money back, i dont want to lose my money, i am having the proof of the check book, when i transfered the money to his a/c.
