Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

What does happen if someone doesn't return back money to the owner showing he is bankrupt?

If i file a criminal case against him and he goes to jail according to the law, how will i get money back?

Because he might transfer all his money and property to his wife's bank account or some friend's bank account, and after jail he simply can take back that hidden money.

Do they investigate even after his jail terms end and after jail is he bound to give back money if he ever earns money in legal way?
