sentenced to 1 yr and compensation .what is the reasonable range of settlement if cheque amount is say Rs 1 lakh and judicial process 10 yrs.what course of action I can take after argument to minimise punishment

After arguments, it is for the court to pronounce verdict.

If you are not satisfied with the verdict, you can approach superior court.

you can compromise by making payment with interest and ask complainant to withdraw the complaint.
