Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Africa
While doing a transaction on hiring a truck the place was raided by the sapd. Drugs were found in a toilet bowl. My wife and I were arrested with the business owner, his wife and a driver and charged with dealing in drugs. Should I be worried?

Naturally, it is traumatic to be arrested on charges of this nature, but if you where not aware of the existence of the drugs and where not in physical control of the drugs or the premises where the drugs were found, the chances of being convicted on any of the drug related charges are slim.
However, if you can afford it, I would strongly advise you to appoint an attorney with criminal law experience to represent you through this process. Unfortunately, whether by design or by default, injustices can occur and having an attorney to guide you through the process will mitigate those risks.
