Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

A woman neighbour spat on me after telling her politely to close the society gate. There is no CCTV footage to prove the spitting. I ignored the incident to avoid further trouble since I was not sure of the law.
If I apply the spit back to her face as an act of proportionate self defence to prevent her from spitting at me in future, will the police arrest me and will the court convict me?
If the woman files a false molestation case against me in order to harass me, can the police arrest me without evidence or are they breaking the law for wrongful arrest? Can I claim compensation from both the woman and the police for perjury and wrongful arrest respectively?
