Legal Question in Family Law in India

My Ancestral home is on my Grandmothers name. But my father is not letting me and my mother to stay in that home. Since he has inherited that home form his parent so can he disallow me and my mother from staying in that home legally ?

you also have an equal right in ancestral property.
