Legal Question in Family Law in India

Dear Sir

I have searched a govt. Service boy for marriage purpose for my sister. After meeting with boy family we have agreed for Engagement. The Engagement has done in a banquet hall on 01.11.17.

After few days of Engagement the boy and his family break off the Engagement with the reason that the girl is not matching with my boy. Although all the family with boy met to my sister before engagement and after proper satisfaction they have agreed for Engagement.

Sir I have expensed more than one lakhs rupees in engagement. I told to groom side to bear my loss of money but they ignored it.

Sir please suggest me can I claim a file in court for the loss of money against groom side.

Yes, recovery can be made. First of all, serve a pleader notice calling upon to pay you the money. Wait for some days. If not, you can file a suit for damage. You can also file a criminal complaint for breach of trust and defamation.
