i have divorced my husband. i want to change my son's entire name and give a new name attached with my name and surname. can i do that?

No madam, you cannot deprive the child of his biological father's inheritance including surname. Besides surname, the biological father may also be entitled to meet with the child if the court has granted him visitation rights. In a given situation, the father may be entitled to claim child's full or partial custody.
However, if the biological father has no objection, or if he gives the child in adoption to your second husband [if you have married again], in that situation you may be free to exercise the option you described.
