Legal Question in Family Law in India

I am a female who got married as per Hindu marriage act on 8th dec 2017. I have been home for 6 months now. I have filed a case on the grounds of cruelty and mental harassment with the all women's police station. My case is progressing very slowly. I would like to know how to proceed with the case.

I would like to in very general terms, common man's language, what streedhan exactly is. Is it gifts that my parents gifted me and the gifts gifted to me by the groom and his family and relatives. Also I read somewhere " In case of jewellery, apart from a few items such as the husband's wedding ring or, say, a gold chain given to him, all items are assumed to have been gifted to the wife." Does this mean that everything gifted to the in laws also belongs to the wife?

Lastly, how do i go about asking for maintenance and this streedhan from the groom and his family?

Thank You in advance.

First, there seems to be a typo error - marriage on 8th December 2017. It can't be, as the date is yet to come.

Second, if date is 8th December 2016, then what is the date of separation?

In general terms, what a woman receives, be it may any source, is her stridhan. So, even if you have received any moveable or immoveable from your own parents, brothers, in laws, your relatives, your in-laws relatives - all is stridhan.

Make a list of things and claim from the person in whose custody your stridhan is.

For maintenance, file your petition under section 125 Cr PC, and/or section 24 HMA or Sec 12 PWDVA
