Legal Question in Family Law in Nigeria

I got. Married to a woman in 2007 and we had two kids from the marriage ,a male of 4yrs and a female of 6yrs last year the woman took them to her mothers house on the pretence that they re going to spend their holiday seeks medical attention for her ringing ears but upon resumptions of school instead of returning with my kids she went to court that she wants devorce but I didn't let her ve it because she has my kids I begged her to come back to me she claimed her health won't allow her to stay with me that my sister bewitched her,but i heard she is seen with men now though. She keep denying having an affairs with them! But my fear is she might have bad influence on my kids upbringing and she is not sound enough health wise to cater for the kids.so how do I go about the devorce and also have custody of my kids?

Generally, at their age, the court will grant custody to their mother. However, proving bad influence could change that. The instance of the adultery with other men is a good reason but difficult to prove.

In the circumstances, it seems you can only get custody through divorce proceedings. To get divorce for reasons of adultery might prove impossible unless you have some other facts to show that the marriage has broken down irretrievably.

One option you could try is the social welfare department of the State or local government, but that depends on the law applicable in that state.

My sincere apologies. I mean to say that "Generally, at their age, the court will grant custody to their FATHER"
