Legal Question in Immigration Law in United States

I am a U.S. citizen. My fiance lives in Mexico. I want to file a k-1 visa for him but I was wondering if new immigration orders will affect the timing process. Also, would it be better to get married in Mexico before filing?

If you get married in Mexico, then your fiance will become your husband & thus be ineligible for a fiance visa. He would have to consular process his immigrant visa case instead.

With a fiance visa, he can enter the U.S. with the intention to marry you within 90 days of entry. Any Executive Orders should not affect a fiance visa case from Mexico.

Good luck.
