Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India

We are a family of 4 brothers & a sister, living in different cities. We own an ancestral plot of land near Kanpur. Recently it came to over notice that the above property has been fraudulently sold & the registered documents contain the photos & signatures of somebody else representing us. At the time of registration 2 of my brothers had deceased. Please guide us against whom & how to proceed legally. thank you

Dear Sir / Madam,

You should obtain the record (in whose name the plot of land is now registered) of the fraudulent sale from the Tehsildar / District Registrar. You should thereafter submit a written complaint to the Tehsildar providing documentary evidence (7/12 extract, Property Card) of the title of the land, being in your name, asking the Tehsildar / District Registrar for a written explanation, as to how the transfer of title of the plot of land was done. You should finally lodge a case against the opposite party who has fraudulently acquired the plot of land, and also include the Tehsildar / District Registrar in the petition.

Regards,
