Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Kenya

My house was broken into two weeks ago. I reported the matter to police and its under investigation. I suspect that employees of my landlord are involved but I have got no proof. The police investigations may bear some fruits since the burglars stole some mobile phones and internet broadband modems that can be detected if used later. My inquiry is whether I can sue the landlord for negligence under the current Kenyan laws?

Dear Sir / Madam,

Unless you have solid and substantial evidence to prove that the burglary took place due to the neglect and negligence of the landlord, you cannot sue the landlord. Instead, if the property is insured for thefts and burglary, you should lodge a recovery claim with the concerned Insurance Company for the loss based on the Police Investigation Report.
