My society secretary says I can't elongate my window. Does he have any right to stop me from doing so? I won't be hurting any beam while doing so.

Dear Sir / Madam,
To elongate the window, you will be demolishing a part of the original wall which tantamounts to structural changes which are not permitted. The Secretary of your Society is well within his right to stop you from doing so.
