Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in India

I got a general power of attorney from my son and daughter in law while i was in usa. the power of attorney has photographs of all three of us, was signed and duly notorised in usa. after returning to india, i got it franked for rs 500 in pune. while franking, they put a stamp saying the said poa cannot be registered at the registration office . even on checking at registration office, it has been informed that this poa cannot be registered .why can i not register it without my son and d/l being present here? can i use this poa for either selling or renting residential property belonging to my son and d/l who are usa citizen with oci card? ---- r arun

There is no need to get it registered here. Have you get it attested by embassy?
