if parents die without leaving a will does the house and property automatically pass on to the children.What about claims by grandchildren

The will must be probated and the property assented to the named beneficiaries. The named beneficiaries can be anyone, children, grandchildren, a organisation even a pet. When the property is assented to, anyone of the owners can pass his/her share to whosoever he/she wishes.
