Legal Question in Banking Law in Alabama

My Grandfather recently passed away. His son, my father, held his POA. I cared for my Grandfather for the last part of his life. As a gesture of his gratitude he put my name on his checking account POD. There have been a couple of deposits to this account since his death but the account is empty. My question is......does a POA have POA over a dead person or does their right end when the other person dies.

No Power of Attorney survives the death of the principal. A POA expires upon the death of the principal and an executor or administrator must be appointed by the probate court to manage an settle the estate of the decedent.
