Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Alabama

Working with a debt settlement company. They want a signed form allowing limited specific power of attorney to talk with banks creditors financial institutions creditors and collection agencies. I'm a bit nervous about granting such power because they also want me to agree to NOT seek or accept legal advice on financial matters. Just seems a bit above what they are legally entitled to if they are legit.

all they are going to do is hold your money, take a fee, and then when they have a lump sum try to pay off your debts. you can do this yourself. It's a waste of money in my opinion.
