dismissal of a case

in a possession of controlled substance case, a plea of guilty was entered but then vacated and the case was dismissed a year later after completion of a drug program and payment of fines. is that considered a conviction?

i was informed by my attorney years ago that my record would be cleared, but after a recent background check done by the fbi i've learned that a conviction surfaced in this case. is this a mistake and can i have it corrected?

you need to go to the jurisdiction where the case was dismissed and hire an atty to request the court to order an additional input to ncic to correct the record in the computer. evidently the conviction was entered, but not the dismissal. call me if i can help you
