Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

Adoption

I have full custody of my two daughters (ages 11 & 12). Their biological father has never paid child support and hasn't had contact with them in six years now. I am married now and my husband wants to adopt my daughters. Is this possible and how hard is this to do? What is my first step?

Re: Adoption

You can go through Probate Court and prove abandonment and obtain an adoption. There you can either get his consent to the adoption or just prove abandonment. You will need a lawyer to get papers properly prepared and the ease the case through the process. I will be happy to assist if you wish to discuss it.
