at what age does your child has to be before you are exempt from paying child support and what are the procedure to getting it stop when the reaches that age

Unless there are college or expenses related to some disability of the child the payments can stop at 19 years of age BUT YOU MUST go to the court and ask that the order be terminated. DON"T just stop paying.
