Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

Ex In Contempt

I'm in need of option advice for non payment of alimony. Garnishment, contempt of court..? The court order was issued in December 2006, Jefferson Co. My funds are limited to enforce this. What is the most efficient way to get this order enforced? He is working, I have sent 2 certified letters and contacted on phone. This is just a very unfair situation that he can just choose to ignore the court order without consequences. Thank you for any advice given.

Re: Ex In Contempt

You will need to file a motion for the court to hold him in contempt and for a hearing on the matter. Usually, you will fare better using an attorney. Glad to help if you do not have one.
