Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

Grandfather died in 2006 and I haven't seen any of the money

My grandfather passed away in 2006 and left his property to be split equally between my half sister and I. I was in Afghanistan and she never contacted me about the estate sale. She went ahead and had the estate sale with out me and then wanted to take money used during the estate sale(cleaning people, uhaul, her hotel stay, etc.)out of my half. In May of 2008, I signed paper work in the state of Alabama saying that I didn't agree with her taking X amount of money from my half to pay for things that she spent during the estate sale. I haven't heard anything concerning this matter since May of 2008. What should I do?

If the estate was probated in Probate Court, who was the administrator? I assume it was your sister. She is responsible for filing an accounting in the Probate Court. If she has not done this and the estate is still open, then you need to retain a lawyer on your behalf to file an objection in Probate Court. If it was not probated and just something that you all did, there are further problems with the sale. There are too many questions to respond appropriately here without more knowledge but I do recommend you contact an Alabama lawyer and discuss it in more detail.
