Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

I am married to a girl and I am named as the father on the birth certificate. I want to get a divorce, and want my name off of the birth certificate. I don't think I am the real father. I don't want to be stuck with paying support for some kid even though I've told everyone he's my son for over 2 years. Can she force the real dad to pay support even though he's never met the kid?

If you were married to her when the child was born, it is your child by law. The only way to not pay child support is to obtain a paternity test which is relatively simple to do with a mouth swab and can be done easily. You would need to make allegations in your divorce complaint and join the person that you think to be the father. a guardian ad litem would have to be appointed to represent the child as Alabama does not approve of bastardizing a child and would want the child to have a father.
