Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

How do i obtain a divorce

My fiance would like to obtain a divorce from his wife that he hasn't seen in 3 years. We are stationed in Kentucky and her last known address is in Texas. He pays child support thru garnishment but hasn't no ideal where she and his children reside. Can his lawyer simply run a ad in the paper and when she doesn't appear in court to contest the divorce he'll be considered divorced? Also, how can the state garnish his wages for a court order that he was never prevy to? He was never summoned into court nor did he provide his LES so how could they compute his wages to determine the current support he's paying? We paid the lawyer in June and so far he hasn't provided any real answers. What is our next step?
