Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

Visitation

What can be done when you have hired and paid an attorney to modify the visitation arrangements with your child due to living in another state, he never does what he says or returns call and we live in another state. 20 months later nothing has been done.

Re: Visitation

First, you probably hired the attorney to file a Motion to Modify. The attorney can't modify anything as your question seems to imply. Second, to answer your question, you can simply write the attorney a letter terminating his employment by you and demanding the return of your file and your fee. Then hire someone else. If your current attorney refuses to respond, you should report him or her to the Missouri Bar association, and file a grievance based on the violation of his or her ethical duties. Good luck!
