Legal Question in Medical Leave in Alabama

i have to keep my job

We were just bought out by a new company in December since I have only been with them for a short time i do not qualifiy for fmla what else can I do since I dont qualify for this and I have to take medical leave

If you have been working there for over a year and worked a minimum of 1250 hours in the past 12 months then you are eligible for FMLA - provided that they have 50 employees within 75 miles of your job site.

It does not matter that another company bought you out in December. That doesn't start the clock running again for all employees. The company that bought your old company simply bought all of the liability of that other company.

If that is what the company is telling you then they are full of it and I'd be happy to tell them that via a lawsuit for interfering in your FMLA rights.

I love FMLA. It's a darn good law and if they are violating it, they will lose.
