In Alabama what recourse do I have on an automobile I bought from an individual 5 months ago and cannot get a title? Is this criminal ? $5000.00 involved.

You can file a suit in District court for monetary and injunctive relief to get a proper title and recover damages for fraud and breach of contract. There are no criminal statutes that would fall under this category.
