Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Alabama
a friend in birmingham, al did some work on a car for me. cost of repair proved more than the cost of car. i was allowed to leave car there for a time. the shop closed. i was told it was still safe behind a fence and ok. later, the owner of the building they rented would not allow me to come pick up my car without a pricey storage fee. he offered to buy my car for $100 or else i would have to pay him a large sum for storage. Now i am being sued for the title or pay him $3000. Q: can he do this to me?
