Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Alabama

I had not paid my car payments in several months. I called to arrange catching up payments and i was told they sold it to a TOYOTA company in Missouri. I was going to send payments, I was told i had to pay entire amount due of $14,000.00

I talked with lady and she agreed to rent me car and then i could pay it off all at once if i could.

A guy came to pick up car, i told him i had an arrangement to keep car.

Later, i talked with lady as i had just made arrangement and had not had time to pay a payment, much less pay it off. The lady told me that her boss would not approve it.

They were going to sue me, and we had a court cost so they could get car back and make me pay for car to.

They came to pick up car, and i told them the car is involved in a lawsuit and if i am going to pay for car, then i was going to keep car. I told them once they take car i would never get that car.

Before court date The lawyer for TOYOTA

"WITHDREW PETITION WITHOUT PREJUDICES" WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR ME ? IS CAR CONSIDERED UN MY NAME ? I HAVE TO BUY NEW TAG AUGUST.

A case dismissed without prejudice means that the current case against you is over, but can be refiled against you as long as the Plaintiff filed it again within the statue of limitations (that is their last legal date to file the complaint). A voluntary dismissal is not a decision on the merits of the issues in that were presented in case so the parties are in the same legal position they were before the case was brought. So you and your debt collector both still have to comply with the contract as written and agreed.
