Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Alabama

Sign over title

A family member signed for the loan for my husband's truck three years ago (loan entirely in family member's name). The agreement (verbal) was that we would make all loan payments and pay for the insurance on the truck (which we have done on time for every payment) and the title would be signed over to us when the loan was paid off. Several weeks ago, we paid the truck off. The title is now in our possession. However, the family member is refusing to sign the title over (family member and husband had verbal disagreement over something unrelated about three months ago; family member stated they aren't signing the title due to this 'falling out').

All payments were made from our checking account, so we have proof that we paid each and every payment on this truck.

What legal rights do we have to make this family member sign the title over to us?

Re: Sign over title

You may consider bringing a breach of contract action against this family member to enforce the contract or possibly, a suit in equity.
