Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Alabama

My husband & I built a house in Ft.Payne, Al., lived in about 6mths. We sold it 2 a couple from a community above our city. My husband had a really challenging year with his health. In fact that was the main reason we were leaving Ft. Payne. My husband & I both had trophy deer, and several bob cat kills as well, the couple expressed how fond they were of our animals and asked if we could let those could be part of the sale. We said absolutely no! we could never let those memories that ws attached to each one of those kills could never be replaced. Well the gentleman asked my husband, (who has been now for over 3yrs) if we could leave the animals in the house until we could get ourselves settled or until James, felt better. Well David the purchaser, called my husband this past week & told my husband he sold the house & we could not get our trophy animals back because the new buyer ( a doctor from Holmer, La.) said it wasnt a deal unless the animals stayed. My husband was just overwhelmed! he is not physical, nor mentally able to battle with the former purchaser, he ( David is more wealthier than us & certanily more known in the communty than we were. ) Please help us with any of your knowledge concerning this matter. Thank you, Judy Van Devender

As a Franchise Attorney I can say the following. The answer depends on a number of factors. What did the contract of sale provide? By leaving the trophies in the house did you waive any rights to them? You really need to consult with a good real estate or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
