Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Alabama

I submitted an invention idea to company some year's back to a well known company..but i never went through with it because their fee's were too expensive..but recently i saw invention come across the television and now im pissed because they assured me that my invention would never be sold or used by them and now it has..do i have a law suit????

The answer is maybe. In the United States, patent rights are based on a first to invent, rather than a first to file, approach. Note, however, that this just changed. The change doesn't matter for you, since this happened some years back.

This could involve a patent suit. But it may also involve an unfair competition suit.
