Re: Help I need advice on a EEOC Mediation

You have many avenues of damages available to you. First, you have special damages which basically include your quantifiable damages, i.e.: back pay and future lost earnings. You do have a duty to mitigate your damages by trying to obtain other employment. You also have your lost benefits as well as any other damages which might be causally connected to your termination. You also have mental anguish damages as a result of the wrongful actions, and potentially, you have punitive damages. I would always suggest you have an attorney involved. It does not cost you anything up front. Most attorneys who handle these types of cases take them on a percentage basis, and they may also be awarded an attorney fee.
