Legal Question in Military Law in Alabama

Miltary Wife Thinking of Moving Out/Seperating

I want to move out of the house. We do not have children together but I have a son. Do I have to file for legal seperation if I move out? Will I still be entitled to a share of BAS/BAH if I move out and/or if I file for legal seperation? If I am, entitled to it, how can I ensure I will receive it form my husband (any paper to fill out..)? Also, if speerated I am entitled to the other mil dependent benefits such as insurance?

You need to contact a local attorney specializing in divorce or domestic relations law and ask these questions of that attorney. An attorney who helps military spouses with divorces will know what local forms and measures need to be completed to provide you with the best outcome.

If you do not know how to locate a local divorce attorney, contact the State Bar's lawyer referral service. Be skeptical of people who advertise.
