I have the possiblity of being convicted of a Class C Misdemeanor - Drag Racing. What are the possible consequences? And what effect will it have on any record of mine?

Thank you,

Re: Class C Misdemeanor

Since it APPEARS that you are a resident of Illinois, and the offense was commited in Alabama, I can only speculate that a conviction for Drag Racing in another state, AMONG OTHER POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES, would be reported through the inter-state compact to the Illinois Secretary of State, and your driving privileges would be suspended or revoked. Hard to say with the information which you provided. GOOD LUCK.

Re: Class C Misdemeanor

in alabama "racing" carries a penalty of up to $500.00 and/or 5 to 90 days in jail. the penalty increases on the second offense. the court can take your drivers license for up to six months and the department of public safety is mandated to suspend your drivers license. you need to contact an attorney asap
