Legal Question in Traffic Law in Alabama

Last night, my daughter went through a road block and was arrested for an oustanding warrant on a failure to appear regarding a "no seat-belt" ticket. She was taken to jail, with no bond. They told me she would have to see the judge...and couldn't guarantee it would be tomorrow (monday). Can you tell me what she is looking at. She has been a good kid...never got in any trouble and is scared to death. She lost a good job a few months ago, and I have been doing everything I can to keep her afloat. I am assuming that's why she wouldn't ask for money to pay the ticket...she felt I was already doing enough. And yes, she looks diligently for work...no-one is hiring. Isn't placing her in jail just a little steep? I realize she is at fault for not paying the ticket, and for not showing up to court - but, really...she deserves to sit in the county jail? I just read an article where a man reiceived his 5th DUI from causing an accident...hurt the women in the other car. The courts ended up dropping the charges and let him go. What is wrong with our judicial system? Please give me some advice, or your opinion on how you believe this will play out. Thank you very much for your time.

She is looking at having to pay a fine for the seat belt violation plus court costs; and she is looking at the new ticket and court costs. The judge will probably keep her in until she pleas and agrees to pay the fines and court costs. He doesn't want another failure to appear.
